This tool allows you to see who is and isn’t following you on Twitter. We use this to ensure our followers and people we are following are relevant to us. Quality over quantity is the case in this instance; it is far more beneficial to have 100 high quality followers who have an interest and relevance to your business than 1000 who are only following you to make up their numbers. Never start a tweet with ‘@’
Starting a tweet with @, for example in response to someone, means this tweet won’t show up in your follower’s newsfeeds unless they are a mutual follower of both yourself and the account you are replying to - this limits the potential of your social media audience and therefore potential for new sales lead generation. Starting your tweet with “Hi” or “Thanks” before ‘@’ (mentioning an account) means all of your followers will view this in their news feed, not only making you look active but also showing your followers that you respond to tweets.
Network
More and more companies, CEOs and target customers are joining or becoming more active on Twitter each day, this is therefore an opportunity to increase sales success via social media networking . People often log on to Twitter for entertainment/leisure rather than as a daily task, meaning your messages are more likely to be noticed and replied to than a typical sales email. And because this is in the public spectrum and companies want to keep their brand integrity intact, they often feel obliged to give a response, which is never a bad thing.
Create brand hashtags
We use #dlsales as our brand hashtag, it’s on all of our presentations and is usually short enough to use at the end of a tweet. We include this on our tweets as a simple way of reinforcing our brand and it’s a great way to track tweets relating to our business. Create a hashtag that is short, catchy and specific to the genre of the tweets you’ll be sending and add this to the end of your tweets where possible.
