Newcastle sales performance company, durhamlane is backing an international trade initiative to encourage US-based technology firms to choose the UK as the launch pad for their global expansion plans.

durhamlane is sponsoring the 2015 UKTI Great Tech awards, held in New York City, on the 29th October, as part of a wider move by UK Plc to highlight that Britain’s open for business and the place for US firms that are looking for international growth to move to.

The prestigious third annual Great Tech Awards are aimed at encouraging high-growth technology companies in Northeast USA to select the UK as the destination of choice for their international expansion plans.

Managing Partners, Lee Durham and Richard Lane are excited to be part the Great Tech awards.  Lee Durham told us recently; “The UKTI Great Tech awards is a unique platform and opportunity to not only encourage ambitious US technology companies to bring their products to the thriving UK markets, but we also see it as a superb opportunity for the UK to be welcoming hosts to the six category winners, encouraging them and others like them, to realise that the UK is the place for aspiring US businesses to transition into.

“We (the UK) are perfectly positioned to be both a significant commercial opportunity for business, as well as potentially becoming a central hub and springboard for further European operations and opportunities.”

With an extensive background in helping numerous globally recognised IT, Software, and Cyber-security companies flourish in the UK markets, durhamlane see this as an opportunity to not only lend their experiences and knowledge to these high growth technology companies, but also as an means of developing their network and further advance the awareness of their recently launched UK & European Success Package.

The Great Tech Awards, taking place at the British Consulate General, New York City, will see entrants from six categories (CleanTech, EdTech, FinTech, HealthTech, Lifestyle, and Media) selected by a panel of prestigious judges and advisors, all competing to win; a roundtrip flight to London courtesy of British Airways; five nights' accommodation courtesy of Corinthia Hotel London; valuable professional services from lawyers Fieldfisher, accountants BDO, recruitment agents Propel Executive, and real estate advisors Knight Frank. In addition, there will be high-level meetings with mentors and government officials, attendance at the unBound Digital conference in London, and business development services provided by sales outsourcing and training specialist’s durhamlane.

The Newcastle-based sales performance company will also be supporting the Best of British award, an award which will be presented to a UK company now established in the US using disruptive technology in their sector, something Richard Lane feels strongly about, he told us “I think it’s equally as important for us to be attracting investment into the UK from the US, as it is to be encouraging global progress for the abundance of ambitious ICT firms our nation has become a hotbed for over the past few years.”
